DESIGN EXPLORATION

Stripe, the online payment infrastructure

2022 – How do you visualise something that is invisible? Stripe is an online payment infrastructure that exists thanks to some famous lines of code. Almost every online payment goes through Stripe’s infrastructure in one way or another.

My task was to research ways to show that despite being built upon a complex system, Stripe is an easy to use platform. On the surface we see a clean, white, organised and customer friendly world. But below the surface, we get a glimpse of the product’s complexity. The kind of complexity that makes one curious but not overwhelmed. After all, at the base of all great discoveries is curiosity and creativity.

Supporting BBDO San Francisco on this project I explored different design solutions as you will see below. The latest solution was taken into further development and post-product. But in the end, as it happens from time to time, the project was stopped due to a top management change.

as Stripe makes the flow of money possible.

Exploring lines

as Stripe exists out of coding, you can literally make anything with just a couple of lines.
